No. We approach sleep holistically with the understanding that many factors impact how a child sleeps, and that sleep training does not "train" a baby to sleep or address any underlying causes of sleep disruption/disturbance. This is not a "no-cry" approach because we value the importance and validity of emotion and tears when supported by a loving, responsive caregiver. We encourage you to always follow your baby's cues and trust your own intuition, and we never recommend or encourage any arbitrary rules or time limits as these take the intuition piece out of the equation. We only promote responsive and respectful sleep changes.
No. With any form of holistic and respectful sleep training, there can be no guarantees because sleep is complex and babies are all so unique. If you are thinking of working with a sleep consultant who is making you guarantees, I would encourage you to rethink this. We will help you to understand your child, set realistic expectations and goals, and come up with a plan to make respectful changes to change the pieces that are not working for your family, while keeping the pieces you love. We will offer you respectful strategies to incorporate to optimize your child's sleep and shift patterns, while always responding to your child's needs. This approach also requires work on the part of the family. You can often get from it what you put into it. If you find you need more 1:1 support and accountability, you can book a call with us.
